Barts

The Dutch brand Barts was founded in the summer of 1986 when founder Bart Koene started selling handmade beach shorts along the coast of Saint-Tropez during his internship and they were sold out in no time. Bart went on a world trip where he bought colorful fabrics and made more beach shorts and pants, which he then sold in Saint-Tropez again. It was so successful that the collection was expanded with accessories, after which the Barts brand was launched in the Netherlands in 1992, starting with a summer collection of colored bandanas, followed by a winter collection of different fleece hats.

Behind the Barts brand is a family of talented designers and graphic artists who love the product and who continue to look for new ideas and possibilities, wherever they go. And what Barts is very good at is the art of knitting by hand. This craft has become the trademark of Barts, who with a real understanding of knitting, types of yarn, use of colors can combine complex techniques in any scarf or hat.
