Floris van Bommel De Loper H high lace-up shoe for men in H-width (wide). This boat is made according to the Goodyear manufacturing method. In this traditional and labor-intensive way of shoemaking, the sole is built up piece by piece under the shoe without prefab materials. Shoes made by Goodyear are sturdy, have a waterproof connection between the sole and upper, can be repaired to a high standard and, above all, have a lot of character. In other words: Goodyear is the manufacturing method a shoemaker chooses for his own dress shoes. The sole has a cobalt blue tread made of wear-resistant TPU. The shoe has a high-quality calfskin lining. This pair is made on an H-width last. The shoe therefore has a slightly wider fitting range and is also suitable for a slightly wider foot.Floris van Bommel about De Loper for men:These shoes are made according to the Goodyear manufacturing method. It doesn't get more traditional than that! Each part is custom-made by hand in our factory here in Moergestel. We use poetic technical terms such as 'flapping', 'spreading', 'licking the edge', 'scraping' and 'smoothing'. That makes my shoemaker's heart beat faster. We have been making shoes this way for centuries. First completely by hand, after the industrial revolution with the help of machines. At the end of the production process, the side of the sole is colored with a brush dipped in a container of stain. Without messing! That container of stain is standing with a few walls in between, 30 meters from the office where I am typing this. We like shoemaking here.
